Weddings traditions is not
just the ceremony, throw the bouquet, and the first dance; there are many
different customs around the world, some of them are really strange; for
example, In China the bride's family hire a "good-lock" women to take
her during the travel from her house to the groom's in a sedan chair; In
Germany newlyweds should clean up piles of porcelain dishes that the guess threw on the ground to scare away any
evil spirits; in Greek the groomsmen shave the groom and his new
mother in law feed him with honey and almonds; in Czechoslovakia
an infant is placed on the couple's bed before the ceremony to
bless and enhance their fertility, also the guess throw them rice, peas
or lentils; in Pakistan the bride's sister and female cousins stole a groom's shoe
and if he wanted back he has to paid for its safe return. As these there
are many more extrange weddings traditions, but finally everything all have the same end shape a new family.

Czechoslovakia is not a country now....I recommend you to travel to Prague is a beautiful city and very cheap....

ReplyDeleteI think a lot of these traditions must be hundreds of years old, when people were afraid of evil spirits and bad luck. However, they're still fun to do today.
